PETITE SENIOR has been specially developed for ageing mini-dogs with assistence of internationally recognised Dutch experts of veterinary nutrition. In the case of mini-dogs the ageing process may begin very late. Dogs of min-breeds are well known for their longevity; they have been known to live for as long as 16 years. Ageing mini-dogs are particularly prone to put on excess weight quickly, which can reduce their life expectancy due to the high risk of developing cancer, sugar diabetes and heart failure. PETITE SENIOR has a low content of high-energy substances and has been specially developed in order to control the body weight of older mini-dogs. The PETITE SENIOR formula has also been developed bearing in mind the fact that ageing mini-dogs often develop osteoarthritis and heart failure. Due to the size of their jaw mini-dogs have densely set teeth and for that reason are more prone to the formation of dental calculus. All these characteristic features make PETITE SENIOR absolutely essential for ageing mini-dogs.

• ENTHÄLT KEIN Weizengluten (Formel «Sensibel»): Weizenprotein bildet Gluten, das vom Körper des Hundes schlecht absorbiert wird. Eine schlechte Verdaulichkeit fördert das Wachstum von schädlichen Bakterien im Darm, unter deren Einfluss sich Giftstoffe bilden. Die Formel von K’F.High Power enthält keinen Weizen (Weizengluten) und daher wird dieses Futter Ihr Haustier vor allergischen Reaktionen auf das Futter schützen.
• EPA+DHA (omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids): Provide the immune function and skin maintenance. Reduce inflammatory reactions that may occur during the development of atopic diseases and osteoarthritis. Omega-6 and -3 fatty acids are present in the ideal 5:1 ratio.
• Weight Control: Older mini-dogs are prone to put on excess weight extraordinarily quickly. L-carnitine is required for mitochondrial energy metabolism and the breakdown of fats in the body. Biotine plays an important role in carbohydrate metabolism, interacting with the pancreatic hormone, insulin. It stabilises the sugar content in the blood and is involved in breaking down fatty acids and in burning fat. Ideal body weight extends the life of an older miniature dog and lowers the risk of developing serious illness. The PETITE SENIOR formula has been developed with a view to facilitating weight loss and not allowing a dog to regain lost excess weight.
• Programma Sensitive (duck meat + borage seed oil + salmon oil): Regardless of age small breeds are characteristically highly sensitive and genetically predisposed towards allergies to food components. A result of this is skin dermatitis (irritable skin) – an allergic disease experienced by small animals. PETITE SENIOR is based on duck meat protein – of all animal proteins one of the most useful and balanced in terms of nutritional value and micro element and vitamin content. Duck meat protein contains potassium, sodium, phosphorus, calcium, iron, copper and other elements essential to an animal’s body. Duck meat protein is one of the most valuable sources of group B, B1, B3, B6, B12 vitamins, riboflavin and folic acid. Borage seed oil significantly reduces the degree of skin itching (nickel itch), erythema and self-inflicted wounds. It has an anti-inflammatory effect and thus controls the condition of the skin in the event of atopic dermatitis. The active ingredient in borage seed oil is omega-6 fatty acid, gamma-linolenic acid (GLA). The combination of duck meat protein and borage seed oil facilitates a reduction in inflammatory reactions in the case of atopic disease. Salmon oil has a positive effect in the case of skin inflammation.
• Formula Longevity: EPA+DHA increase immunity, lower the risk of dangerous illness and have a positive effect on the workings of the brain. Natural Anti-oxidants Complex (vitamin E, vitamin C, green tea extract) protects cells from the activity of free radicals. High level of vitamin E offers protection from cancer, kidney failure and mental decline Low protein content reduces the production of ammonia, thus easing the function of kidneys and liver. At the same time it maintains muscle mass. Low level of sodium (Na) eases the functioning of the heart and protects against heart failure. Low level of phosphorus (P) lowers the risk of liver failure. Biotine is involved in the production of glucokinases – substances which activate glucose metabolism. Glucokinase is produced in the same place in the liver where biotine is stored. This is particularly important for diabetics, who have low glucokinase content in the liver. Biotine also plays a not insignificant role in the synthesis of glycogens, i.e. carbohydrates built up in the liver and muscles, and also in the intake of these reserves and in what is called gluconeogenesis, a process whereby 16 of 22 amino acids are transformed into glucose. In this way biotine stabilises the sugar content in the blood. Thanks to its high biotine content PETITE SENIOR significantly improves glucose metabolism in dogs which suffer from diabetes.
• Chondroprotektives Agenten (Lachsöl, Chondroitin und Glucosamin): Haben eine positive Wirkung auf die Gelenke, überwachen die Wiederherstellung des Knorpelgewebes und verhindern den Verschleiß der Gelenke. Erhöhen den Wasserfluss in das Knorpelgewebe und verbessern dadurch die Schmiereigenschaften der Gelenke.
