Indication

PRO-VET PROTEST is special developed for dogs with food hypersensitivity and for dogs with diminished mobility, osteoarthritis or susceptibility to develop this conditions. PRO-VET PROTEST is enriched with a mixture of very effective chondro-protective agents, namely salmon oil, New-Zealand Green-Lipped Mussel and shark cartilage, which naturally contain GAGs (glucosaminoglycans) and chondroitin sulphate.

PRO-VET PROTEST is a cold pressed dry food - an unique alternative for extrudered dry dog food.
The biggest difference between pressed and extrudered feeds are the absolute temperature which is used during the production. During the extruding the temperature will rises to above 100° C. Because of this, these food is baked and a so called gets crispy shape.
On the other hand, by pressing PRO-VET PROTEST the temperature does not run higher on than maximum 70° C - this temperature guarantees that the most important ingredients of PRO-VET PROTEST, such as shark cartilage extract and New-Zealand Green-Lipped Mussel extract, function optimally.
By dogs the osteoartrose is a frequent attentive chronic, progressive and painful sickness of the movement apparatus. A serious osteoarthrose forming can be the reason for euthanasia. Besides, the degeneration of cartilage will be typified till the inflammatory responses syndrome in the synoniale membrane. In the light of above differences, salmon oil rich diet could give a positive impact on osteoartrose. At people this has been already shown. Four recent studies in different veterinary clinics have shown that dietary with salmon oil, New-Zealand Green-Lipped Mussel and shark cartilage extract slows down the progression of osteoarthritis by dogs. In a standard test, weight bearing was tolerated better by patients fed the test diet instead the control food.

Beside the written above, there is still an important reason why PRO-VET PROTEST is pressed and not extrudered.
By a pressed shape the feeding substances are released more evenly. That comes because these shape solves slowly from the outside.
The consequence of it, is a maximum digestibility of PRO-VET PROTEST as a result of which the chance on flatulence torsions is clearly smaller.

Feeding guide

In the case of skin disorders, the recommended duration of feeding this diet is 3 to 8 weeks; if the signs disappear this feed can be used indefinitely. In the case of heart failure, the initial recommeded duration of feeding this diet is up to 6 months.
